Terms of Service & Acceptable Use Policy

1. Introduction
Welcome to Gravity Farms ProtoLab ("ProtoLab"). These Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy (collectively, the "Terms") govern your access to and use of ProtoLab, including all related software, features, and services (the "Service") provided by Gravity Farms, Inc. ("we," "us," "our").
By accessing or using ProtoLab, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
2. Definitions
"User" refers to any individual or entity who accesses or uses the Service.
"Content" includes any data, text, images, media, trial notes, or other material you upload, create, or share through ProtoLab.
"Private Protocols" are protocols you store and manage privately in your account.
"Public Protocols" are protocols you intentionally publish for community access.
"Published Content" includes any protocol or related information made public by you.
3. User Accounts
3.1 Registration
To access most features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and keep your information up to date.
3.2 Account Security
You are responsible for safeguarding your account login credentials. You agree not to share your login with others or allow unauthorized access to your account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use ProtoLab only for lawful, ethical, and research-related purposes. Specifically, you must not:
- Violate any applicable local, state, federal, or international law.
- Use the Service for research, propagation, or documentation of protocols involving:
- Marijuana (cannabis) or its derivatives (including THC or CBD), except where explicitly permitted under U.S. federal law.
- Psilocybin or other hallucinogenic mushrooms or fungi.
- Any Schedule I or II controlled substances under the U.S. Controlled Substances Act.
- Any substances illegal under the laws of your country, state, or jurisdiction, even if they are legal elsewhere.
- Infringe or misappropriate any intellectual property rights, trade secrets, or proprietary information.
- Submit or transmit any false, misleading, or deceptive information or protocols.
- Post or store any obscene, defamatory, abusive, threatening, or otherwise objectionable material.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or any connected networks or systems.
- Attempt to bypass, reverse-engineer, or otherwise compromise any security or authentication measures.
- Share the Service or its access credentials with third parties outside of your permitted team without authorization.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts engaged in any prohibited activity without prior notice.
5. Content and Intellectual Property
5.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of all Private Protocols and other content you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, and use your content as necessary to provide the Service.
5.2 Public Protocols
By publishing a protocol to the public community, you grant us and other Users the right to view, fork, annotate, and build upon your work. We may also use aggregated data from Public Protocols to improve platform performance, suggest protocol variants, and surface research trends.
5.3 Use of Protocol Data
We may analyze and process aggregated and anonymized data from both Public and Private Protocols to improve the Service, enhance user experience, and support research and development of our software. This analysis will never include or disclose personally identifiable or proprietary information from your Private Protocols.
6. Privacy and Data Processing
Your use of ProtoLab is subject to our Privacy Policy and any applicable Data Processing Agreement (DPA) for enterprise customers.
We implement industry-standard security to protect your data. You acknowledge that no system is perfectly secure and agree to notify us of any suspected breaches or unauthorized use.
7. Plan Tiers & Usage Limits
Your access to features and limits (e.g. number of private protocols, team size, collaboration tools) is determined by your selected plan: Community, Research, or Commercial. Gravity Farms may adjust these limits from time to time and will notify you of any material changes.
8. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or use the platform in a way that risks harm to other users or the Service itself.

9. Disclaimers
ProtoLab is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that your protocols will succeed, that data will be error-free, or that the Service will be uninterrupted.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gravity Farms is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — or loss of profits, data, or goodwill.
10. Modifications
We may update these Terms periodically. We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date. If changes are material, we will notify users by email or in-app. Continued use of ProtoLab after updates constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
